Marco Antonio Rubio

T20

Marco Antonio Rubio is a U.S. Senator from Florida, serving since 2011 as a member of the Republican Party. (Born in May 28,1971) in Miami, Florida, to Cuban immigrant parents, Rubio has been an influential voice on immigration reform, foreign policy, and economic issues, often emphasizing conservative values and advocating for a strong stance against authoritarian regimes, especially in Latin America.

A member of the Republican Party, he served as Speaker of the Florida House of Representatives from 2006 to 2008. Rubio gained national attention during his 2016 presidential run, positioning himself as a younger, more modern conservative voice. Although he ultimately lost the Republican primary to Donald Trump, Rubio's campaign boosted his visibility. In the Senate, he has been an outspoken critic of governments in Venezuela, Cuba, and China, advocating for human rights and democratic reforms in these regions. Additionally, Rubio serves on several key committees, including the Senate Committee on Foreign Relations and the Select Committee on Intelligence, where he focuses on U.S. national security and countering international threats.

Rubio's positions reflect a blend of traditional conservative values and advocacy for a free-market economy, and he has supported legislation on tax reform, military spending, and pro-life issues. Known for his speeches on the American Dream, Rubio often discusses his personal story as a testament to opportunity in the U.S.
